Thank you

Thank you to all my supporters for all your visits and prayers. Thank You God for giving me a wonderful year of growth and transformation. God bless each and everyone! Have a happy new year!

Also..I am beginning to work on a fiction(novel) book. I have the main character named and alot of aspects about his life are coming into focus. I'm scared to death that it won't be any good to be really honest. I hope it's readable and one day released. Please keep me in your prayers.

I will begin putting all the corrections from the ebook versions of He's the Pen, I'm the Paper and Thankful to Be Useful this weekend. I'm not ready to set a date for either of those releases yet but they will be on amazon.com next year barring any major delays.

Making every second count

Watching all the coverage of the Chris Henry death has really made me think. We need to make every second count. You never know when it will be your time to go. I know I don't want to be left thinking..why didn't I do this or make time to be a better....

Take the time to slow down in life and really show appreciation for the people around you. Pray like you really mean it. Don't just go through the motions!!!

Looking back and moving ahead!

Looking back over this year it has been a year of some very difficult trials, mountain climbing experiences and the joy and confidence that comes from getting through them all. He's the Pen, I'm the Paper is available in over 17 countries, an e-book version is coming re-edited and Thankful to be Useful is ready for the editing stage as well. I plan on releasing it in e-book format first and then in paperback. God has taken me to places I have never been before in my faith, relationships, and truthfully every area there is. Nothing is impossible with God and He's made that very clear to me this last year. God bless you and stay joyful.

I know that this year and this time of year there are alot of people in need. Please be praying and if you are able give to those who are going through a tough time. Some need food, clothing, and other items but remember they all need our love and prayers. Please take the time to make a difference this Thanksgiving and Christmas season.

Daniel

Daniel 3:18
But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods,
nor worship the golden image which you have set up.

Taking a stand. It's something we have to do in every area of our lives. We have to put God first in our time, relationships, jobs, homes, everywhere. Do you find yourself compromising your time with God? You know,..more often than not we put more emphasis on the temporary things in our lives. Things like maybe a flat tire, a cold, not getting our way.

Please take time to spend with God today. Put God first and be ready for where ever He may put you.

Psalm 23

Psalm 23
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
Know that God is with you at all times. Sometimes we forget that. We try to figure out things ourselves. We try to do things ourselves. But it is God who prepares, restores, and provides for us. You might be going through a real tough time right now. Keep praying and keep beleiving, because when we let Him do what He wants in our lives..everything falls into place.

Good Start

He's the Pen, I'm the Paper is off to a good start. Sales have been good so far. The main purpose for this book is to glorify God. Another is to make a career out of this honoring God throughout the entire career.
Luke 12:48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Distractions

In life we will have many distractions that will keep us off course if we let them. It's easy to get caught up in the internet, television, books, you know stuff.

Thessalonians 5:17 (New International Version)

17pray continually;

That's not a suggestion but a command. It's in prayer that we really get close to God. It's not by our actions or thoughts that things happen in our lives. But by God who is our creator. There is not enough prayer going up. I think there never has been. There is so much hurting, sickness, disease, people who don't know or believe in God. Stop every day to pray.

Praise Him

Today I was thinking about a favorite movie of mine...Facing the Giants. There is a quote from the coach that is ringing true in my life this week..."We praise Him when we win, we praise Him when we lose." Don't we all need that advice. Because as we succeed we often forget who has given us the opportunity to succeed. We think it's us but it's not. It's God. Without Him nothing is possible but with Him all things are possible. My book hit the market this week and today just became available on amazon.com. Now this is a time when I could let that go to my head and just think I'm so great. But instead I've been nervous. I've been praying. Let this book reach further than I will ever travel. Let this book glorify God, encourage others and reach people who are not Christians yet. Let it be an encouragement to someone going through some tough times. Most importantly God, let me be useful to You. God bless you and have a wonderful day everyone!

Failing to Succeed

Micheal Jordan said that he could succeed because he had failed. I agree. It's not being afraid to fail that can be what it takes to be successful. I have attempted nearly everything I have ever dreamed of in life. I am constantly dreaming, trying, failing and succeeding. I learn so much from my failures that they push me. I am constantly praying and asking for guidance. Obviously I can't achieve all my dreams. But when it's not just about me but about reaching people for God. That's where I truly find success.

Updates and more Updates

I'm planning on shooting another video for the blog this Sunday. If you haven't watched them yet please do. You can find them on youtube.com/richardshanereinert and what used to be godtube.com now it's tangle.com. I approved the cover for my first solo book "He's the Pen, I'm the Paper" last week. Today I sent in 5 corrections for the text portion and now I just wait for it to all be put together. I'm very anxious to get this book on the shelves and next year I plan to release "Thankful to be Useful". I'm hopeful that God uses these to encourage people and reach some of the lost out there who don't know what God is all about. Thank you to every reader of this blog. You are a constant encouragement to me.

Weak

When you are weak, He is strong. Have you ever felt like giving up? You are tired, frustrated and just don't know if it's worth doing anymore. That's is actually a very good place to be. It's in that moment that we relize we can't do it. No matter how hard we try it's not up to us. We relize that God is the one who is doing the heavy lifting in our lives. We can't carry the burden or complete the tasks He asks us to complete without Him. It's easy for us to think we can do everything on our own. It may be through the help of money or just our faith in ourselves that puts us in that mindset. But when we are weak and we call out to Him and spend time reading His word and putting it into practice that we find sucess. So take time out and find a quiet place and pray, relax and trust Him.

Update

I'm doing another video that should be up soon. Like Monday or sooner. This one is about hope. We all struggle with hope in one way or another. Some of us hope for so much that we get disappointed. The bible says"Hope deferred makes the heart sick." Some of use don't hope for anything anymore because we've been let down so often. We have to find a balance. The bible says when a desire comes, it is health to the bones. It makes us happy, it gives us life.

Thankful

I just want to thank everyone(God first) for making this an amazing month. I have had the best month number wise for my website www.richardshanereinert.com and also the first video blog has been a blessing to quite a few people in just a few days. I am working on another video that I hope to put up next Monday. Let me know if you liked it, loved it or loathed it. I can do nothing with God's help in my life. God bless you and be encouraged...for when you are hurt Jesus hurts too. The shortest verse in the bible sums it up "He wept."

What are we putting in and out?

Whatever we put into our minds is bound to come out. If we spend all our time watching trash tv, listening to Hollywood gossip and some pretty rough stuff on the radio then how to we expect to be Godly? So many people expect God to do something in their lives but they haven't spent the time with God to get there. If we spend time in prayer, reading the Bible and quiet time with God we will reap the fruit of a close relationship with God. When we praise Him no matter what God knows He can use and mold us because we truly want to be in His presence. We have His kingdom mindset. So when you get up everyday and before you go to bed...think about "Did I have His kingdom mindset?"

No Limits on God

I just got back from a 2 hour worship service. Wow! That was an experience. I've never seen anything like that. You know sometimes we put limits on our experience with God. We are used to things being done a certain way. If it's not our way we don't want to receive it. It doesn't work that way. If it stand up to the test of bible then how can we deny the teaching or worship, maybe even the way someone is praying. God doesn't do it your way. That's burger king. When God does things there is a purpose to who He is using who and why. None of us have any right to say that's not God if it stands up in God's word. Try to take down those limits. Pray about it and see if God doesn't open your eyes to much more.

Let them off the hook

Today and Yesterday someone just tore me down. Just insulted and insulted me. You know what I let it go. None of the things this person said were true. So I went to the bible..Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. So I forgave them. You might have someone who just messed up your day or week and you are struggling to forgive them. God can help you do it. There was a man who was ministering in Germany after world war II. He gave an alter call and a man came forward who was in Hitler's army and had been one of the cruelest guards. The man who gave the alter call was in his concentration camp. But something happened nobody expected..He stuck out his hand and said if I can forgive you so can God!

Climbing Mountains

Each of us has one...a mountain we need to climb or have God move in our lives. It could be getting over something someone has done to you. Maybe it's a physical affliction that just keeps you from doing alot of the things you enjoy. It could be that you are in a place where you are waiting for God to move because you don't want to make a decision you might regret. Where ever you are God is there. I know that He can move mountains..In Eph.3.20 it says "God is able to do more than we imagine or even dream of, infinately beyond our highest hopes, dreams and desires." So why are we letting something stand in our way? All things are possible with God. He created everything we will ever see, taste, touch, smell and experience. We need to remember to pray everyday. We need to reach His word and know the promises are there. Most importantly we need to trust Him and expect that not only can He resolve this situation but that He will.

Not Alone

Sometimes we really feel alone. We hit a place in life where maybe we don't have alot of friends and we start to spend some time alone. You feel like everyone has ....a friend,...a husband..., a wife,...children. You just want what they have. But you aren't in a place that hasn't been lived through before. In truth you are never really alone God is there. You may be thinking yeah but it's not the same. You're right it's not. God never lets us down, He always listens, He always cares, and most importantly always forgives. Don't let this time be a burden to you. Enjoy this time because you might not have it later. This might be the chance you need to really listen to what God has for you to do with your life. Sit with Him in the quiet time. Life isn't always puppies and rainbows but I guarantee you are never alone.

Fellowship

We all need some fellowship in our lives. Men and women of God that can mentor us, teach us, and sometimes just listen. The bible says(paraphrasing here) that if one falls then another is there to pick them up, but woe to the one who falls and no one is there to help them. It can be hard to reach out and open up. But know you will never get up alone.

Never Easy

When you have someone who says their heart is set on you...it really hurts when they don't stick to it. Be careful with the words you use. It can really hurt someone very deeply when they believe it. God is always in control.

Failure

If I had not failed some many times and in so many ways would I be brave enough to succeed? It's a question I ask myself today. I have been ripped apart for some of the decisions I've made and places I failed. I have had people threaten my life for some of them.(which is never a good thing) So after all that and wanting to quit and give up. I found a great deal of success with a new opportunity I had with a new friend. We went out in August 2006 to make a special for the tv station we work in. One month later it was in 1 online store and 1 local border's book store. The sales were amazing. There were actually waiting lists for our dvd. Talk about shock. So then we sat back down and thought to do another. The first dvd in the mean time expanded to include over 10 stores in Ohio including Border's Books, Barns and Noble, Joseph Beth book stores and even gas stations. Our 2nd dvd which we put much more work into was featured on the Today show almost 1 year ago. So after failing in so many things I was strong enough to succeed. I feel like that is how all our lives can be. ...think of all the people in the bible who struggled until they reached out to God.

Don't Let Go

Don't let go of the promises God has given you. These storms will pass. Don't let the enemy discourage you. Nothing is impossible for God...that marriage can be healed, that child will return to God, the bills will be paid, He is still on the throne!! Don't let go just because today was tough or you don't know what tomorrow will bring. God is still there hold tight to Him.

Overcoming

Today I woke up with my neck trobbing and a headache. But I know that God can heal me. We all have something that's holding us back or distracting us from our purpose in God. We have to remain focused on God and what He has for us. Not us and our problems. It's so easy to just get caught up in our lives, our pain, our dreams and forget about what God wants. But let me encourage you to stay focused on God, pray for others around you.

Over the Edge

Do you ever get the edge of where God wants you to be and just look? It's hard sometimes for us to trust God. We don't want to get out of our comfort zone and do what we think He is asking of us. Jump off the edge and into what He has for you!!!

Pick up your cross

Jesus said pick up your cross and follow after me. Do you ever notice that sometimes the cross gets a little heavy? Is there ever a fear that grips you and you want to give up? You are never alone as you pick up the cross. God is always with you. It may not be easy everyday to pick it up and walk but God will be there every step..everyday.

Early

I woke up very early today and I remembered that God said rise early and find me. So I did. I am thankful that I spent some quiet time with God and remembered just how wonderful He is. I watched a dvd called H2o. This particular story was comparing Barabas's possible life after he was released to a man on death row. Both were released...the man on death row was released and his father picked him up and waiting for him at home were every single family member and tears flowed. It is like our lives before Christ and the pardon we get to recieve when get saved. Amazing grace played and it was so very, very good.

Vacation

My vacation ends in a just a matter of hours....and I am totally tired. I had so many things going my son's birthday parties, father's day and many other projects. I got everything but one task completed. I need some rest. I spent so much time with friends, family and completing the housework that I didn't really get the rest I needed. So I did spend some time writing today and I read the Purpose Driven Connection magazine I was given as a gift. I found my rest in God. It's a great feeling to know in the busy and in the quiet times God is there and working in our lives. I am excited to say that this has been an amazing month and I had a huge jump in visitors to site. God is opening so many doors right now all I can do is smile and say thank you God! Enjoy your quiet time and remember to find God in it.

Listening To GOD

Do you ever have one of those times when you feel like God is telling you to do something? You struggle with it for a while before you break down and listen. I have had quite a few lately. But I did do as I was told and no matter how nerve racking it was to do it I completed the tasks. It's hard to listen sometimes because we all think "no that's not God, it will pass." You have to find out does it line up with the Bible and pray about it.

Just a Moment Please?

I consider it a blessing to stay up late at night and help someone out. How many times do we have someone calling who's really going through some stuff and we are watching tv instead? Or we don't want to be bothered because we've got alot to do the next day? People are more important than things, tv shows, our own desires. If we all took the time to pray with people, listen, encourage someone everyday would our country be the way it is today? Take some time today for someone who needs a shoulder to cry on or just someone to talk to.

Recipe for Sucess

A great recipe for success 1. the meat from the word of God 2. Living water to wash it down. 3. The sweetness of being in God's presence for desert. Have a great day everyone.

A moment

Do you ever have one of those backpack moments? For me it's one of those moments when you take that huge camping/hiking backpack off your shoulders and lay those burdens at the cross. It seems like all to often we pick them back up and are weighed down time and time again. It's time we start remembering that we don't need to take that with us. It's not ours and never was. Give it all over to God.

Slacking on the blog

It's been a few months so I know I've been slacking on keeping up on this blog and 365 new poems. I've put a good dent into the 365 and that's been very good for me. I've got a new mac laptop which is motivating me to write everywhere I go and late into the night. It's been a bit of a struggle so far this year in some areas...I've been sick with pneumonia, then brochitis and I've been spending far to much time by myself. It's very hard to stay up and not drown myself in anger and bitterness. I guess I should take all this time and be writing. I have a bit of a rant I think I will get out here...It is extremely hard for a single christian man almost 30 who has a son to meet single christian women. I have tried the internet to the end of the earth with no luck. I've met alot of people in the same boat but what do we do? We pray of course but it's very hard to be patient in this endeavor. Ok so much for that! I've climbed out of the stone age and got an attachment for my mp3 player for my car. It is a very good investment. Keeps you focused on God when nothings on the radio. Ok... I've said enough more than enough for now. God Bless and thanks for stopping by.

Been a while

It's been a long time since I've blogged. Many things have happened. I moved into my first house of my own. I've plugged away at getting the book done. The formatting is driving me crazy how it appears on one computer isn't always the same on another. I graduated from the Way of the Master Biblical Evangelism School. So some very good things. Personally life has been extremely challenging. Please keep me in your prayers. I'm having some struggles. I am trying to keep up with my goal of 365 poems written this year for the website. God Bless you and don't let anything distract you from the life God has called you to live.
